Healthy Changes in Our School Cafeterias!
Dear Tahquamenon Area School families,
Our school cafeterias are meeting tough new federal nutrition standards for school meals, ensuring that meals are healthy and well-balanced and provide students all the nutrition they need to succeed at school. Now is a great time to encourage your kids to choose school lunch!
School meals offer students milk, fruits and vegetables, proteins and grains, and they must meet strict limits on saturated fat and portion size.
We’re always working to offer Tahquamenon students healthier and tastier choices.
School meals are a great value and a huge convenience for busy families too! Every year, your family receives a Free and Reduced Meal Application. It is important to fill this out for two reasons:
The following meal prices apply for the current 2015-2016 school year:
The application process has become easier than ever to fill out and understand. You may now apply by going online to www.LunchApp.com. It is very quick, and approval is instant if qualified! In addition, you do not have to worry about your information being shared with others because application information is CONFIDENTIAL. No internet? No problem! There will be computers in the central office for anyone who would like to fill out an application online and doesn’t have access to the internet.
Please support your School Breakfast Program by completing your application today! If you have any questions about the application process, feel free to contact the central office at 293-3226, extension 1133.
We look forward to welcoming your child to the cafeteria this fall! To find out more Tahquamenon’s healthy school meals and/or the changes taking place this upcoming school year, please contact me at 293-3413. To obtain the facts about school meals visit www.TrayTalk.org.
