The sixth graders met as a grade level for a Why Try lesson called, “The Reality Ride”. Students learned about making good choices to gain freedom, opportunity, and self-respect. We learned about planning, delayed gratification, things that are in our control, and how to handle things that are out of our control.

During the months of August and September, the K-6 students focused on being prepared. Many PRIDE bucks went into the bins for a chance to win prizes, these students were recognized during the Pride Palooza celebration this month. K-6 students will focus on “respect” during the month of October.

Parents and Guardians that have the Newberry School app. There were some glitches worked out recently. If you have not been receiving push notifications from the app you will need to delete the app and redownload it. Also if you have not downloaded the app, please do! The new Rooms communication piece added is great for parents and teachers to connect about their students. If you are having trouble creating an account and linking your student please contact Haley Stark at hstark@taschools.org and she can assist you.
