Senior Spotlight - Derek Bowler
Derek is planning to become an agricultural equipment technician after her graduates. His favorite high school memory was the band trip, and he's proud that he made honor roll all 4 years of high school. Derek is going to miss seeing his friends every day, and Mrs. Kidd's English 4, his favorite high school class. Derek's advice to incoming freshmen is: "Pay attention and the work is easy."

Senior Spotlight - Alexandria Leech
After graduating, Alli is planning to attend Ferris State University for a degree in business. Her favorite high school class was CTE/GIC with Mr. Parr, and her favorite high school memory is dancing at prom last year or being a homecoming candidate. Alexandria couldn't live without her friends, and her advice to incoming freshmen is: "Don't be scared to do presentations; no one will remember them."

Senior Spotlight - Leticia Zarate
Leticia's after graduation plans are to join the Air Force! She is proud of earning all her credits, and she is going to miss how simple and easy high school can be if you let it. Leticia's favorite class was Mrs. Kidd's English class, and her favorite high school memory will be the day she graduates, so she can celebrate her accomplishment. Her favorite saying is: "Don't wish for it, work for it."

Senior Spotlight - Aa'keem Jackson
After he graduates, Aa'keem is planning to go to college and double major in criminal justice and political science. He is hoping to work for the FBI or Homeland Security! Keem's favorite high school memory is the 2022 UP Track Finals, and his proudest high school accomplishment is finishing second in the UP Division 2 4x400 relay finals during his junior year. He is going to miss playing sports with his friends, and he couldn't live without God & his family. Keem's advice to incoming freshmen is to challenge themselves, and his favorite saying is: "If God is for me, who can be against me?"

As Teacher Appreciation Week comes to a close, we want to say a big, heartfelt thank you. Thanks to the community members who came together to help us make our teachers feel appreciated and thank you to our amazing teachers. We can't say enough about the incredible things that you do for our school , students, and community. We appreciate you!!!

Senior Spotlight - Owen Sharp
After graduating, Owen is planning to work in a restaurant. His favorite high school memory is going sledding with Mrs. Rathje's class, and he is going to miss his friends and hot ham & cheese sandwiches. Owen's proud to be finishing high school, and he couldn't live without the internet. Owen's favorite class at Newberry High School was science class.

My health class has been enjoying Cody from MSU extension visits to TAS. They have been making delicious fresh and healthy snacks. Today the kiddos made healthy snack wraps loaded with veggies.

Congratulations to Employee of the Year for Support Staff - Mark Hayes and Employee of the Year for Teachers - Lynn Evans. They were honored last night at the EUPISD Employee of the Year banquet. Thank you for all that you do for students at TAS!

Senior Spotlight - Hayden McNamara
Hayden is planning to go into welding or automotive mechanics after he graduates. He is going to miss being around his friends and playing football - which is his favorite high school memory. Hayden's favorite high school class was Spanish I with Mr. Whitehouse, and he's proud that he was able to be a part of one of the best football teams in NHS history. Hayden's advice to incoming freshmen is: "Care about your grades as soon as you get to high school."

I could not love these kids anymore! It's hard to believe that I only have a few short weeks left with them. Today we had smoothies from Project Healthy Schools, followed by root beer floats to celebrate meeting our testing goal, and a fun photo op with the BEST t-shirt ever!! (I ❤️ my new nickname)
