Being healthy is a life long process. Students in 6th grade performed a skit to help us focus on the 5 main goals from Project Healthy Schools.
1. Eat more fruits and vegetables. 🥦🥑
2. Choose less sugary foods and beverages.🥛💧
3. Eat less fast and fatty foods. 🚫
4. Be active every day. 🏃🏻♀️⛹🏼
5. Spend less time in front of a screen. 🎮

Mrs. Frank has chosen Maci Hutchinson as the Newberry Elementary student of the week. She is in Mrs. Frank and Mrs. Price’s 5th grade class. She has been chosen for always being on top of her assignments and for her participation in class. Every day she comes to class prepared to learn. In her free time Maci likes to draw and listen to music.

Halloween shenanigans in sixth grade.
🎃👻

The suffix -ness, writing practice.
(Part 2) 📝

Sixth graders learned that when you add the suffix -ness to an adjective, the part of speech of the word changes to a noun!
Dark becomes darkness, quick becomes quickness, etc. We practiced writing sentences using a word as an adjective, then adding -ness to use it as a noun. Great practice on making sure your sentences “sound right” by using words the correct way! ✍️

Happy Halloween from Ms. Pacman and crew!

Firemen Bruce Klusmeyer and Christopher Wendt came to school today to talk to us about fire safety.

Mrs. Curley’s littles partied the day away in kindergarten!
