Luce County 4-H Baseball/Softball/T-Ball
There are a couple important steps you have to take to complete registration:
1. All youth must be enrolled in 4-H Online: https://v2.4honline.com/#/user/sign-in
2. You must fill out a youth team info sheet at the MSU Extension office (shirt size, siblings on same team, etc.)
3. All registration fees must be paid to the Luce Co MSU Extension office by 5/2/22

K-6 Parents.... Two sessions of Summer School will be offered again this summer with a focus on essential Reading and Math Skills. Session I - June 13-30 Session II - July 11-28 Each session will be held Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Breakfast and lunch will be offered to all summer school students. Transportation will also be provided to students who live outside the Village limits. If Summer School is recommended for your child(ren), you will be receiving a letter in the mail in the very near future.
6th grade students used their knowledge of magnetic and electric forces to design devices called electromagnets using batteries, battery holders, wires, and iron nails.
Scheduling for next year will start to take place this week. There are parent/ student meetings held in the auditorium for anyone that has questions regarding the upcoming years schedule.

Spring Band Concert Tuesday, May 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the auditorium. Grades 6-12 students will be performing.
Senior Spotlight - Evelyn Derusha
After high school, Evelyn is planning to attend college for nursing, and her favorite class in high school would either be CTE Health or Education Training. Her favorite high school memory is Homecoming 2021, and she's proud that she passed Mr. Griffis' class. Evelyn's going to miss snow days, and her advice to incoming freshmen is "Just try your best. If that doesn't work, I don't know. Good luck!"
Senior Spotlight - Ethan Fair
After he graduates, Ethan plans to find a job where he can spend lots of time outdoors. He's going to miss his friends and teachers, and his favorite class was Life Skills. Ethan enjoys watching shows about trains and documentaries, and he's proud that he was helpful to all that needed it during his high school career. He encourages incoming freshmen to be nice to all.
Senior Spotlight - Wesley Burkhardt
After graduation, Wesley is planning to go to the Midwest Truck Driving School in Escanaba. He's proud of all the memories he's made during high school, and he's going to miss all of his wonderful friends. Wesley's favorite high school memory is winning the homecoming game this year. He couldn't live without a hat, and his advice to incoming freshman is "Stop caring about what other people think."
Fifth graders celebrated Earth Day and a beautiful day by planting pea seeds in the school garden. Hopefully students will be able to sample some of their peas before the end of the school year.
Parent Meeting for Parents of Native American Students
Tahquamenon Area Schools receives Title VI monies to support Native American students in our district. There will be a parent meeting on Tuesday, May 3 at 6:00 p.m. in the elementary conference room. There will be signs posted.
This meeting is to discuss what the funds can be used for and where TAS should allocate the money received.

Senior Spotlight - Cora Bufford
After graduation, Cora is planning to attend Northwestern Michigan College and "make bank $$$" in Traverse City. She enjoys recalling moments involving her whole graduating class, like powderpuff and homecoming. She's proud that she won homecoming queen, and she couldn't live without pizza. Cora's favorite class was with Mr. Griffis. She's going to miss waking up and seeing her friends everyday.
Senior Spotlight - Jayden Brown
Jayden's plans to find a job after high school. He's proud that he is passing high school, and he fondly remembers all of the parties that he had on the last day of school in years prior. He's going to miss high school pizza parties, and guided study was his favorite class. Jayden's favorite quote is: "You only have one life, so live it like your last."
Senior Spotlight - Jacob Brown
Jacob is planning to attend Michigan Technological University after high school. His favorite high school class was strength training, and his advice to incoming freshmen is to "savor it while it lasts." Jacob's favorite high school memory is winning states for hockey, and he's going to miss the people from high school most.

Senior Spotlight - Kraig Bodi After graduation, Kraig is thinking he may attend a trade school and find a full time job that pays well. He's proud that he's finishing high school and earned good grades to pass all of his classes. He couldn't live without all of his trucks, and Mr. Parr's classes were his favorite. Kraig is going to miss being with his friends every day, and advises incoming freshmen to enjoy your time while you can, because it's gone before you know it.
Senior Spotlight - Claudio Bistolfi
At the end of this year, Claudio is planning to return to Italy and finish high school. He's looking forward to playing more basketball, and his favorite high school memory is being able to experience American high school basketball. The accomplishment he's most proud of is dropping 30 points against Brimley while playing a home game. Claudio is going to miss Connor Slaght, and he couldn't live without his summer basketball court in the Italian Alps.

Senior Spotlight - Parker Bosel
Parker is eventually hoping to move to Wyoming. His favorite class was chemistry with Ms. Vix, and he's going to miss this class the most from high school. He's proud of maintaining a high GPA all through high school, and he enjoys watching the show "Superstore." Parker's favorite saying is "you only live once."
