Second graders have spent the past few weeks working through the writing process to create biographies about their classmates. Today, the authors presented their biographies! ✏️📝

This week’s student of the week is Ryan Anderson chosen by Ms. Derusha. Ryan is a hardworking student that takes her time to complete any work given to her. She is always wanting to do her best. In class Ryan’s favorite thing to do is centers, but she especially loves to color. Ryan always volunteers to help Ms. Derusha and doesn’t complain about any task given to her. She is sweet and caring, helping her classmates without being asked. Ryan is a great student that Ms. Derusha can always count on to be doing what she is supposed to!

Besides our 100th day team activity to determine the best way to count 100 items, we enjoyed a visit from Ms. Bennett. This time the 13 Moons lesson was about corn. They were able to grind corn and even ate some delicious cornbread.

Mrs. Browning's kindergarten class celebrated 100 days of learning with special crowns and a yummy 100th day trail mix snack. The students carefully filled 10 small cups with 10 snacking items. After counting by 1s and 10s, the students then enjoyed eating their unique snack.

Ms. Derusha's room was full of love today! 💌❣️

Mrs. Havens' second graders made very special Valentine boxes this year! They had to choose a book to read and design their box based off of something from their book. They also presented their boxes to their classmates and are excited for them to be filled with Valentines! 💌 ❤️

PROUD MOMENTS at TAS
1. The district received an email from a referee praising our young ladies and their coaches for their positivity and sportsmanship. "I was so proud of the ladies basketball teams last night. From the coaching staff to all of the players. They showed grit and determination for the love of the game. Rather a call went their way or not, they never complained. They were always positive of the outcome. " "It’s so great to see a group of young ladies and coaches that are so positive towards one goal. Your school and community should be proud of them. "
2. A presenter for the grade 5/6 sent this message. "Yesterday my experience was top notch with Mrs. Frank's classes. Her students were respectful, asked really good questions about the lesson and enjoyed the venison taste testing.
3. Our 8th grade boys basketball team received this praise. "During the game, one of our Rudyard Bulldogs players who has autism, was given
the opportunity to take the court and experience a moment of pure joy. In an
incredible display of sportsmanship, the opposing team joined in, allowing him to
score baskets while cheering him on. Your players encouraged him, the crowd
erupted in applause, and for a few unforgettable minutes, the game wasn’t about
competition, it was about kindness, inclusion, and the power of lifting one another
up." The letter from Rudyard Superintendent is attached.
We are TAHQUAMENON PROUD of ALL our students and are excited that others are seeing how great they are also.

Please note: Dismissal time has recently changed and students are being dismissed 4 minutes earlier than they were before. Mrs. Wallace and Mrs. Feldhusen begin radioing for students out back at 2:52pm. Please adjust your pick up time accordingly. Thank you!
