Ms. Kellogg's First Graders read the story "Balloons Over Broadway" which tells about how the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade first began. Students then designed and created their own paper plate "balloon" in anticipation of parents coming to watch our parade along with a few other classrooms. However, Mother Nature had different plans and instead a snow day shortened the week before Thanksgiving. Here is a picture of their creations for all to see and enjoy taken in front of the handprint/footprint turkeys they also made!

Mrs. Bliss’s Student of the week is Jordy Schultz! Jordy is the son of Andrew Schultz and Emily Schummer. Jordy is a wonderful boy, always willing to help out and participate in what the class is doing. He has come such a long way with his communication and socialization skills. We are all so very proud of how far he has come. He really seems to enjoy carpet time, and loves to go and check the weather for us. Thank you Jordy for making us smile each and every day!

We love to paint in kindergarten! We made special ballon float crowns based on the book Balloons Over Broadway and then paraded down the hall to lunch.

Mrs. Zolfahari has chosen Avner Yenna for student of the week. He is the son of Hollis and Rachel Yenna. He has two brothers and one sister. Avner currently plays basketball and likes to fish. He is a creative student who takes pride in his work and has a positive can-do attitude. He is a fantastic listener and shows respect towards both his teacher and his peers. Avner’s desire to learn is evident and I can count on him to be a calm, enjoyable presence in my class. Thank you Avner for your effort you put into your learning each day and being an awesome student!
