This week’s student of the week is Kindergarten student Isabelle Wheeler. She is an absolute joy to have in Mrs. Browning’s class. She doesn’t give up when work seems complicated and is always willing to help those in need.
She is a great friend to her classmates and enjoys playing with them at recess. Her favorite things about school are Number Corner (math) time, painting, giving hugs, and earning classroom incentive bucks. She looks forward to spending these bucks on a Desk Pet. She also enjoys Read-Aloud time. So far, her favorite book is Dragon’s Fat Cat by Dav Pilkey. In addition, she enjoys working on craft projects in class and learning about our SuperKids characters and various animals for our Animal Election.
When she’s not in school she enjoys playing with her sisters. Macaroni and cheese tops the list of food favorites and purple is her favorite color.

Today's entree is Confetti Soup! A ham, bean, and veggie soup that displays a burst of color! Along with the soup, there is Caesar salad, 7-12th grade salad bar, cheese stick, an applesauce cup, crackers, and choice of milk.

We love celebrating our kindergarten successes! Congratulations to our first student to learn the 1st marking period sight words!!

We are enjoying our daily Kindergarten Work Stations. Most days we rotate to include 4 fun activities.

Cute October Family Project pumpkins, students too! 😊 One pumpkin didn't make it into the in basket until the end of the day. Still cute! These completed projects are just as unique as the kinders. We had fun sharing them.

New cafeteria benches. ESSER funds were used to purchase.

Due to lack of substitute bus drivers, there will be no bus transportation available for Mark Hayes’ Duck Bus students Tuesday, October 8, 2024. Parents will be responsible for transporting their students this day.
We are very sorry for the inconvenience.

Due to lack of substitute bus drivers, there will be no bus transportation available for Howard Bliss’ Horse Bus students Tuesday, October 8, 2024. Parents will be responsible for transporting their students this day.

Just a heads up to families who have been sending in cold lunch with your students:
There are only 2 microwaves in the cafeteria for students to use, so if you're sending something that takes several minutes (5-10) to heat up, your student is finding it challenging to have enough time to eat. You might consider something that can be warmed up quickly or something that can be eaten cold to provide adequate eating time.

Ms. Derusha's kindergarteners are ready for Dig Pink! 💗🏐🎗️

Mrs. Puckett’s choice for student of the week is Grayson McAlpine. Grayson is in 4th grade. He is the son of Julie & Aaron McAlpine. He has been a stellar student, following all the PRIDE (Prepared, Respect, Integrity, Determined & Engaged) expectations for school. He is prepared each day with not only his materials but with a great attitude. He has been respectful to his classmates and teachers. He has been using integrity and doing what he is supposed to do even if no one is watching. His determination to be successful in school this year is noticeable. He has been engaging in our lessons & activities. Grayson has been an exceptional role model for his peers this year. We notice how well you are doing, Grayson! Keep up the good work.

Reading Treasure Box creator cuties!

Mrs. Curley visits our kindergarten class every Friday. This week she reviewed last week's lesson on emotions and today they made a Friendship Web.

Every month Mrs. Browning's kinder families have the opportunity to participate in a Family Project. September's project was to decorate a shoebox to be a Reading Treasure Box. This box will house all reading material sent home. We're also off to a good start with our ABC Bootcamp. As of today, we're half way through the alphabet! 👏
