Dear Band Parents,
There will be a band booster meeting on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. in the band room. We are restarting this group after several years of being dormant. The boosters support the band by sending kids on trips, scholarships, purchasing instruments and uniforms, etc. Please consider joining our restart and help support your child in band.

Mrs. Burbach has chosen Lydia Feldhusen as the Student of the Week. Lydia is in my 5th grade Health and Physical Education Class. Her parents are Eric and Kendra Feldhusen.
Lydia is not only a dedicated student who works hard and excels academically, but she is also a wonderful person who inspires us all. She goes above and beyond to help her classmates, shows kindness to everyone around her, and consistently makes thoughtful and positive choices.
Her willingness to lend a helping hand, her positivity, and her commitment to doing the right thing make our school a better place every day. Thank you, Lydia, for being a shining example of what it means to be a true leader and role model.

NHS Senior Lily Heim has been awarded a Certificate of Merit from the Society of Women Engineers and Michigan Technology University. Lily plans to attend MTU in the fall. Congratulations Lily!
Lainey Payment was chosen as the student of the week from Mrs. Vincent’s 1st grade class. She follows the rules of Pride (prepared, respect, integrity, determined and engaged) every day of the week. Lainey comes to school to work hard and is always willing to lend a helping hand to a fellow student. She has a bright attitude and gleams with positivity. Lainey’s favorite subject in school is science because she thinks it’s fun to figure out different things. She is the daughter of Jess and Matt Payment of Newberry. We are all so proud of her!
This is a reminder that this Friday, January 17, 2025 is a half day with dismissal at 11:18 a.m. Sack lunch is provided. This is also the end of the first semester. Reports will be forthcoming.
Amazing readers and writers in kindergarten. The children love to showcase their hard work. They are learning to love their journals and Read the Room work station.
Lego Club members met for week #2. They enjoyed connecting with friends and exercising creativity. We talked about Symmetry and members were given a heads up to next week's symmetry building challenge.
Fridays are often known as "Fun Friday" or Fri-Yay! The Kinders enjoyed listening to the story The Mitten, retold with artwork by Jan Brett. Afterwards they made tissue paper mittens, retelling mittens and were each gifted with a pair of mittens to keep at school or take home. We finished our day with guests: Miss Anna & Miss Ashley from the 4-H extension office. They brought to us a Mindful Me lesson based on the book titled Have You Filled a Bucket Today?
Celebrating the end of our first week back and kicking off second semester with staff appreciation bags. Items inside are geared towards helping recharge, refocus, & reenergize to finish the year strong. Looking forward to recognizing 4-6 staff each month for the rest of the school year!!
